2024 County Government Day Update

Members,

Thanks to the tremendous response to County Government Day, the hotel block is already almost fully booked. We have spoken with the DoubleTree about the possibility of adding rooms. They have stated they could provide 20 more rooms, which would then completely fill the hotel, but it would be at the rate of $289 per night ($60 more than the conference rate). We feel that the rate is too high to ask you to pay so we will look at other properties for an overflow hotel.

We are asking you to do two things:

1) If you do not have hotel accommodations at the DoubleTree and you are interested in an overflow hotel, please email us at [email protected] to let us know how many rooms you need and which nights you need. In downtown Nashville, we have to sign contracts guaranteeing that we will use the rooms to get a block. If they are not used, the association has to pay for any extras. For this reason, we do not want to overbook.

2) If your county has extra rooms at the DoubleTree that you are not sure you need, we ask that you let us know and please release those rooms so that one of our other members can get in the conference hotel.

This event is always challenging since Nashville is now a year-round tourism destination. We try to find reasonable accommodation, but when hotels can charge $300-$400 a night to tourists, they generally will not hold a large block of rooms at a discounted price.

We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your strong support of our events.
